I’m Ben, a York based freelance graphic designer specialising in branding, presentation design and print. I create clear, thoughtful work built with purpose. Not just to look good, but to communicate properly. My approach is calm, structured and considered, with just enough edge to make sure it stands out.
Growing up, I was the one editing photos for friends, usually putting someone’s face where it didn’t belong. It started there, but the direction was always creative.
Before design, I studied music performance and production. That background shaped how I think. Structure, rhythm and attention to detail still play a big role in how I approach visual work. Moving from audio to design felt natural. Just a different medium, same mindset.
I’ve been designing since 2017 and I’m self-taught, building my experience across agency, freelance and in-house roles.
What sets my work apart is the way I structure it. I’m organised and methodical, and I focus on building strong foundations before anything else. That means clearer outcomes, more consistency, and design that holds together properly across every touchpoint.
I’m easy to work with, straightforward, and collaborative when needed. I can also take ownership and run with a project independently. The goal is always the same. Make the process smooth and the end result solid.
Outside of design, music is still a big part of my life. I listen, I play, and I put together playlists with probably more care than necessary. I also enjoy cooking, especially when I have the time to do it properly. For me, it’s not far off design. Thoughtful, detailed, and built from the ground up.
